Wedding at The Westglow Resort and Spa

We recently provided entertainment for a wedding at The Westglow Resort and Spa in Blowing Rock, North Carolina.  It was an intimate wedding ceremony and reception with just close friends and family.  The bride and groom and their family live near Charlotte, NC and chose The Westglow for a destination wedding.  Blowing Rock is only an hour and a half from Charlotte and The Westglow is a delightful wedding venue or romantic hideaway just inside the North Carolina Mountains.

The bride and groom had a simple ceremony with the groom’s father serving as the officiant.  Both the ceremony and reception took place in a beautiful sitting room near the entrance to The Westglow.  Through an open door, there was a spacious patio with breathtaking views of the North Carolina mountain treetops where the guests retired for cocktails.  The first dances were “Fade Into You” by Mazzy Star and “Into The Mystic” by Van Morrison which we sang and played on guitar.  “Into The Mystic” is a terrific first dance or ceremony song choice and we have noticed that many couples have been requesting it lately.

After the dances, the small group of 11 sat for a delicious gourmet meal prepared by the Chef at the Westglow.  We played instrumental music on two acoustic guitars mixed with songs that we sing in vocal harmony.  Later in the evening, several couples danced to songs both fast and slow and there was a feeling of comfort and joy throughout the night.  The bride had a wonderful energy and it was clear that the evening was just as she and her new husband had desired.  They had given a memorable gift to their closest family with this special evening at The Westglow.
