Carolina Country Club Wedding in Raleigh North Carolina
We had a great time playing guitar and singing for a wedding rehearsal dinner at The Carolina Country Club in Raleigh, NC this weekend. Judy, the mother of the groom, did an amazing job planning the entire event from her home in Tennessee. She had been referred to the Carolina Country Club – a beautiful, historic country club in the middle of Raleigh – by a friend of a friend. She found Melonbelly doing an online search for wedding rehearsal dinner musicians. Judy was looking for an acoustic group so that the music would be played at a low volume so that her guests could catch up… family would be visiting from Tennessee, North Carolina, Colorado and New York. We started with some Motown, Classic Rock, Early Country and Blues, and then moved into upbeat acoustic rock as the night progressed. The bride’s (Laura’s) brother and sister prepared a funny skit and sang karaoke, which was a big hit. Then they sang some songs while we accompanied them on our acoustic guitars. We love it when guests get up to sing. It adds a special memory to a wedding rehearsal dinner or reception when family and friends get up and sing together.
Even at the beginning of the evening, Judy was thrilled with how the night was coming together. By the end, everyone was sharing stories, toasts and laughs. What a great, fun group it was! The Carolina Country Club is a perfect wedding venue in Raleigh. We were thankful for the opportunity to provide the entertainment for the evening.
